School district staff needed to build comfort and competency with a new suite of workplace technology tools relevant to their roles, as part of a broader push toward technology-integrated instruction.
Designed and delivered an eight-week blended professional development course for staff, curating and vetting external technology resources into a repository participants could reference beyond the course. Determined course requirements needed to qualify for Professional Development Points and evaluated participant coursework accordingly.
Post-course evaluations found that over 97 percent of participants felt more confident using the tools after completing the course. Staff put that confidence to immediate use, applying the tools and materials they created weekly in their classrooms as part of earning their Professional Development Points. The blended model developed for this course continues to inform the design of hybrid and in-person learning today.
